Aching, hurting, needing to cry,
Shutting out why I'd like to die.
Remembering that night not long ago,
When I was almost gone because of what I let grow.
Needing, thirsting, unending pain,
It pelts down on me like an acid rain.
Alone, and afraid, so confused and unending,
The daggers in me never bending.
They're dull but they twist, making me scream,
All I wish is for a kindly dream.
But I wake up shaking, crying, hurting,
Because inside I'm truly dying.
I wish so hard, I want to go back,
Because it seems for hurting people I have a knack.
I'm alone, and I earned it,
So now I'm burning, feeling like shit.
I want it to end, this nightmare of pain,
But when I wake up, it's to acid rain.
All I see when I look is what I have lost,
And for all of which I pay the cost.
I see mistakes, stupid things,
Painful things life always brings.
I block it out,
I don't scream or shout.
But inside I die,
with wings crippled, I cannot fly.
I want to run,
I need to be done.
I slice, I cut, I tear away,
But my pain refuses to end today.
